Venue Spotlight-Embassy Suites

The NEW Embassy Suites was featured in a venue spotlight in the February Issue of The One! Read this awesome article written by Omar Lopez, one of our contributing writers for the magazine! Enjoy!

It’s a marriage of the best elements that make the perfect day. Luxe plus
peace of mind; comfortable travelers plus upscale accommodations; fine
cuisine plus beautiful décor. It takes the right approach to achieve the
ultimate celebration. Now, one venue in South Texas offers to make it
happen in one of the most beautiful spaces in Corpus Christi.

Embassy Suites Corpus Christi recently underwent a major renovation that
transformed the comfortable property into an upscale, high-end event
hotel. More than that, Embassy Suites offers a new, unrivaled, all-in-one
service option for couples: a true all-inclusive package.

What couples will experience at Embassy Suites is a Œone-stop shop in
terms of all of their wedding needs, Cesar Herrera, Sales and Events
Manager, said. We want to be known as a single destination for brides to
plan an entire wedding, so that is what we offer services from beginning
to end in a convenient, all-inclusive, cost effective, beautiful package.

The beautiful part of the deal begins with the first steps into the
hotel. With a ballroom that seats 150 and smaller meeting rooms perfect
for ceremony spaces, the planning team behind the renovation clearly had
the ultimate wedding and the ultimate guest experience in mind.

The lobby floor is completely new imported porcelain tile but guests
will marvel at the spectacularly tiled, arched ceiling that has been in
the hotel for years. The white tiles seems to shimmer with a glaze, making
the ceiling appear to be made of windowpane oyster, or more commonly
known, capiz shell.

A new bar in the lobby of the hotel called ŒZ Bar is located near plush
seating areas, perfect for waiting guests and intimate conversations.

Glass elevators with dark wood inlays offer prime views of the hotel
atrium, complete with the signature Embassy Suites fresh greenery and
foliage. Three floors offer a scale to the hotel that guests would find
appealing, especially families staying on the property for a long weekend.

The hotel refurbished 150 suites to include new furnishings and bathrooms
that feature exquisite glass showers. Dark wood and modern appointments
make each suite feel more like upscale Las Vegas then casual South Texas.
The property also features a pair of premium suites, offering more square
footage that could be used as a Honeymoon Suite, or a Bridal Party suite
on the day of the event.

The ballroom offers state-of-the-art audio and visual equipment for a
stunning reception. Projectors, a built-in sound system and retractable
screens are par for the reception ballroom; but at Embassy Suites, the
amenities are well hidden in a room steeped in intelligent design. Window
dressings feature true texture. The dark wood paneling exudes
sophistication. The carpet feels lush and rich.

Deluxe surfaces like quartz, thick glass and stainless steel can be found
at every turn. Virtually every piece of the hotel was evaluated and
replaced, if needed, to suit the tastes and desires of guests. The
Starbucks coffee machine is a bonus; even the ATM machine is cute it¹s
tiny and it floats on a wall.

We have taken design elements from the finest hotels and properties
around the world and infused them into this redesign, Lisa Hinojosa,
Director of Sales, said. There is no other property in the area that will
have luxurious touches and smart design elements such as Embassy Suites
which is why it’s beautiful for weddings.
According to Hinojosa and Herrera, the renovations are trumped by a
different element of the wedding experience at Embassy Suites: convenience.

All-inclusive at Embassy Suites may redefine the term. Since the hotel
is a full-service property with upscale amenities, brides can plan an
entire bridal event at the hotel, from bridal shower to ceremony to
reception, using the hotel’s catering and bar services including buying
the perfect cake. Brides could facilitate group accommodations, a
honeymoon suite and every detail of the wedding in one,
singular meeting.

It’s a promise Herrera and Hinojosa say they can keep and one that has
already been delivered to other couples.
Our staff works together to make sure the entire planning process moves
smoothly and swiftly, and that’s a huge advantage that we can offer to
brides, Hinojosa said. Our staff offers more than experience. We offer
personal relationships with vendors in the Coastal Bend. We cater to the
bride and make it happen. We say Œall-inclusive, and thats a guarantee
we make.

The hotel is able to offer all-inclusive packages at different budgets
that include all fees and costs. Forget the check for the minister?
Missing a bridesmaid’s bouquet? Is the music missing? Hinojosa and Herrera
said it would not happen on their watch a huge sense of peace for any
bride, they say.

According to Hinojosa, when one-stop planning is promised, the staff at
the property delivers. It¹s part of what makes the hotel most appealing as
a wedding venue to brides from all walks of life. Every kind of couple can
take one meeting with staff and do the following: reserve accommodations
for traveling guests; taste a menu; finalize décor; secure music; hire a
wedding officiate; order a cake; select table linens; select a
photographer; and deliver music. And when they are done, they can
celebrate at the complimentary legendary Embassy Suites cocktail and
snacks reception at the end of the day.

Plan a wedding and enjoy a free glass of wine to celebrate? One-stop
wedding shopping, indeed.
