Here is the cover of the October issue and the behind the scenes article including our wonderful models and newlyweds Narissa Gorsline and Edward Hinojosa. We hope you enjoy the issue along with our theme “Grooms”!

What makes a great cover? So many things. But without a versatile, experienced, talented photographer, you just aren’t going to get that “something special” which will set the image apart and catch someone’s eye from across a room. Fonzie Muñoz once again delivered, creating a time capsule of wedded bliss.

I think the best part about this particular shoot was the fact that our models are a real couple and had just been married two weeks prior. Narissa Gorsline and her husband Edward Hinojosa were married August 3rd with a vintage theme wedding. Extraordinary details embodied their creativity and uniqueness (see wedding spotlight pg. 8). For their wedding, they wanted guests to feel as if they were in a different era and the couple helped recreate that for The One cover as well. Fonzie was also the man behind the camera for their big day, so Narissa and Eddie were super-comfortable posing for the cover with Fonzie’s direction. Narissa’s wedding dress was from Vera Wang’s White line at David’s Bridal. Her necklace, bracelet and earrings were made from her late grandmother’s necklace. Her headpiece was from etsy.com. Narissa’s flawless makeup and hair were created by the lovely Celeste Koss with MAC at Dillards. The incredible bouquet was designed by Heidi Oconnell at H-E-B Blooms with too many flowers to mention (check our blog!). Eddie’s hat, suspenders, and bowtie (bought online) and menswear from Tuxedo Junction took the photo shoot to an entire new level and took all of us back into time. Their inspired style made us want to dress the part, especially being in the museum.
Throughout the evening, we were careful to get the shot as soon as we could to limit the flash on the delicate artifacts. Dylan McGill with the museum was a huge help showing us the features of the venue and making sure the artifacts were safe. Aubrey Winston was there to help (there were four girls telling Fonzie what to do… God help him and praise his patience!) Aubrey referred the cover couple to us (we loved them immediately) and helped deliver their dream wedding at the Ortiz Center.

The Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History, which is one of the city’s most interesting event spots, was a remarkable location to shoot the October issue cover. With the history, culture, and uniqueness of the museum, Fonzie Muñoz was able to capture romantic and elegant photos of Eddie and Narissa with a bit of nostalgia on the side. Of course, he couldn’t have done any of it without his beautiful assistant, daughter Marina Muñoz. We are always grateful for the presence of Derrick Perrin from Big Box Pro Video Productions. His technical knowledge, mad video skills and willingness to help is so valuable.
